This time of year is a moment for reflection on the past year. Going over what you accomplished throughout the year while also trying to not beat yourself up about what you didn’t. So join me in taking a look back at what I accomplished in 2017.
- Multiple Work Accomplishments:
- Launched a new (HUGE) free update to our game
- Launched 6 new DLC packs for our PC product
- Launched our base game on PS4 and XB1
- Launched 6 DLC packs on Console
- Lead on a campaign to include the community in the creation of a pack
- Personal Accomplishments:
- Guest on a PAX Panel about How to Create A More Diverse and Inclusive Community
- Attended VidCon for the first time
- Attended Playlist Live for the first time
- Attended TwitchCon for the first time (including their Twitch Dev Day which kicked off this year)
- Finished 16 cross stitch projects
A lot of what I did in the past year really revolved around work which definitely meant my personal goals for the year kind of went down the drain. That said I don’t look back at this year in a negative way, I’ve seen such explosive growth for my career as I continue to push myself to be better, expand my skill set, and look at the emerging creative markets for content creators to see how best to implement them into what I do.
Something I started to realize this year was that it is possible for new things you are passionate about to interweave into your career and can reinvigorate your drive for what you do. I guess the biggest things I’ve learned this year are to expect the unexpected, everyone goes through luls but its best to take a breather and refocus, and you must never stop learning.
