One of my favorite things to do as soon as December first comes around is to start watching a holiday film a day, because why not? I was tempted to list out a movie for every day leading up to Christmas, but that would be long and I ain’t about that life. So instead, I’ve narrowed it down to my top three favorite holiday films that you should definitely watch:
Number One: The Santa Clause
This is one of the first movies I watch as soon as December kicks off. There is just something about the way they tackle the magic of Santa that really left an impression on me.
It’s a nice reminder that even as we grow up we should always remember the magic and wonder we had as children. It is so easy to become jaded by the world, especially nowadays, but those moments where we can center ourselves and bring that magic back into our lives we should go after it wholeheartedly.
Number Two: The Holiday
I tend to watch this movie all year round but watching it during the month of December gives me all kinds of warm fuzzy feelings.
I can relate to each character in different ways but the part of the movie that I love so much actually centers around being the leading lady in your own life. Also, I’m tempted to have a jam out session in my own house and sing the Killers while watching this movie.
Number Three: Klaus
Okay, so this one is cheating a bit since it is newer BUT it is a seriously great film. The animation, the color, the cinematography, and the narrative are just chef’s kiss.
I won’t really go into the story of this one, other than to say it is about the story of how Santa Clause came to be. But if you love animated films, love the holidays, and just want to cuddle up on the couch with a nice blanket and cup of coco, this is definitely going to be a film you will enjoy.
