While I haven’t been able to play as many video games as I would’ve liked this year (due to being ridiculously busy with work), the ones that I have been able to get my hands on have been fantastic.
Stardew Valley has been a constant companion this year as I just enjoy the most mundane of things with the game. While I enjoy figuring out the underlying story happening within the world of Stardew Valley I mostly just enjoy jumping in and working on my farm. There is just something really fulfilling cleaning up the farm, tilling the soil, planting seeds, watering those seeds and watching them grow into a variety of items (like watermelon, corn, parsnips, etc.) Even figuring out what your farm layout will be is super fun.
With the release of this on the switch I’ve pretty much been ruined since I can take it on the go whenever I want.
Pokemon has always been a staple within my gaming library since I first got my hands on a copy of Pokemon Blue when I was but a wee youngin. While some of the Pokemon have gotten quite…interesting, I still enjoy playing through unique story lines and finding out the motivation for the bad guys while teaming up with unique creatures that help me save the universe.
Animal Crossing Pocket Camp released only a few short weeks ago here in the United States but it has become a regular part of my routine. I wouldn’t say its the best animal crossing experience but when I only have a few minutes to spare in between work or when I need to take a short break from personal projects to clear my head it certainly does the trick.
I’m looking forward to spending some time with all of the other games I have in my “to play” list (which I will write about in another post at some point). For now, I am happy with the games I have been able to spend a lot more time on this year and I look forward to all of the amazing games coming next year — which means my backlog will continue to be never ending.
